My kids have been coming to karate training for over a year. They love Sensei and Shihan as well as the rest of the team. I’d 100% recommend Japan Karate-Do federation to anyone that would like their kids to do exercise and boost their confidence.Posted on Google![]()

This is a very rare and special traditional shotokan karate dojo with outstanding high quality, and warmhearted instruction from the head instructor Paul Godshaw along with the many other very experienced and knowledgeable senior instructors. If you want to learn good traditional karate that emphasizes hard training, disciple, a balance of kihon, kata and kumite, and most importantly, character building, then this place is for you. What I like most are the people. They are all hard working, intelligent, strong but kind men and women of high integrity, and a love for the art of karate-do. What is rare about this dojo is that there are so many quality, high ranking black belts that have all trained with this dojo as a group for decades. Gaining the loyalty of so many students over so many years can only be created by an organization of excellence.Posted on Google![]()

I have been a student at the Japan Karate-Do Federation for 10 years. I also have the unique perspective of having all 3 of my daughters participate at the dojo throughout their childhoods to the level of junior (child) blackbelts. This dojo is more than a place to exercise or be trained, it is a place to develop yourself as a human being and be part of a larger family. Shihan and Sensei personally train the adults and kids in the dojo, refining our skills with our form, our knowledge of kata and kumite, but also of the history of karate, from Shotokan's origins in Okinawa, to the teaching of Japanese etiquette and manners. My children and I have learned so much about ourselves and what we are capable of throughout the years of participating at this dojo. I can't recommend it enough for someone looking for the authentic Japanese martial arts experience.Posted on Google![]()

Traditional Japanese Karate. I am learning that the body can do amazing things. When I first watched a class at this awesome dojo, I told myself I had to be a part of it, but I am a few years shy of 70, so I was a little reluctant to start. I didn't need to be. The instructors always seem to know just the right amount to push us students...not too little and not too much. Even more amazing given the wide range in ages of students--- from teens to octogenarians. This is so much more challenging and rewarding than a mindless gym routine.Posted on Google![]()
